Academy students come from as many as 29 different American
Indian tribes across the country. Each student at the Academy
is a member of a federally recognized tribe and has met the
admission criteria established by the school.
Students range in grades from 1st through 12th. Most of the students
are from rural areas and small towns i n eastern Oklahoma,
but approximately 25% come from metropolitan areas such as
Oklahoma City and Tulsa. Students have represented up to
29 tribes during the school year. The two largest tribes
at Jones Academy are Choctaw and Muscogee (Creek). |
