🎓 A New Chapter Begins! 🎓
Move-In Day for two of our JA graduates at Eastern Oklahoma State College! We were so excited to help them move into their dorms, get settled in, and make sure they had some of the essentials they need as they begin this exciting new chapter.
One of our graduates was able to attend Camp CHAHTA, making the most of the opportunity to connect, have fun, and prepare for this next step. Our other graduate moved in just in time to take part in Welcome Week!
We are so proud of both of these students and all they have accomplished to get to this point. As they begin their college journey, we know they have so much ahead of them, and we can’t wait to see all the amazing things they will accomplish!

Jones Academy Annual Back to School Bash

The Jones Academy Jr Robotics team took part in the International Junior Botball® Challenge put on by GCER in Norman, Oklahoma during the International Botball® Tournament.
Students from across the world showcased their creativity and determination as they designed, programmed, and tested autonomous robots to complete a series of exciting challenges. Throughout the event, participants demonstrated critical thinking, resilience, and collaboration while gaining valuable experience in robotics, coding, and engineering.
We are proud of every student who participated and grateful to the educators, coaches, mentors, volunteers, and families whose support made this event possible. Your dedication continues to inspire the next generation of innovators and problem-solvers.
Congratulations to all of our teams on a successful competition! We look forward to seeing you continue to grow your skills and can't wait for next year's Jr. Botball Challenge.
It wasn't all just robots and coding, we visited a mall, swam in the hotel pool and had fun at Main Event with bowling, laser tag, arcade and even a human claw machine.

What an incredible week at the UNITY National Conference as we celebrated 50 years of UNITY! We are so proud of our students, Kelli, Isaiah & Ari, for representing Jones Academy with pride, leadership, and respect.
It was a week filled with unforgettable memories, laughter, culture, and connection as we came together with Native American and Indigenous youth from across the country and beyond. Through workshops, shared experiences, and new friendships, we strengthened our leadership skills, celebrated our cultures, and were inspired to continue making a difference in our communities.
We return home grateful for this experience, the relationships we've built, and the knowledge we've gained. Here's to continuing to lead with culture, purpose, and heart!

On Thursday, May 7th, grades 7-12 met in the Student Success Center to participate in the “Game of Life” activity! Students were assigned careers and annual salaries, then visited different booths where they experienced real-life scenarios such as getting health insurance, buying or renting a home, learning about supplemental income, and purchasing vehicles.
Along the way, students also faced unexpected life events like having a car towed, owing on student loans, or needing a trip to the doctor — as well as some fun surprises like winning the lottery or finding money in a coat pocket!
There were lots of laughs, great memories made, and valuable lessons learned. This was a fun and engaging way to give our students insight into real-life responsibilities and decision-making!

The Girls Dorm spent the afternoon at the Oklahoma Aquarium. Students enjoyed the interactive activities and spending their last weekend together before the summer holiday.
Jones Academy students enjoyed the JA “Let’s Glow Crazy” dance in the cafeteria. This student dance was a hit especially since 12th graders Adriana Montejo, Emery Comby, 11th grader Kaylee Chee and 9th grader Juliana Montejo headed up the decorating committee. Special thank you to JA Kitchen staff for making the delicious snacks and to JA Maintenance Crew for installing all the lighting.
On May 1st, our 5th–10th grade students participated in an engaging learning experience. Students explored the Kiamichi Tech website and reviewed programs offered across campuses, building on knowledge from previous visits and expanding their awareness of educational opportunities.
They also took part in a hands-on coding activity using Sphero Bolts, working in pairs to create a “cat and mouse” game. Students programmed both characters and then watched their code come to life in a fun, interactive way. A great day of learning, teamwork, and creativity!

On April 30th, our students in grades 10 through 12 participated in a College 101 Workshop, where they had the opportunity to learn, plan, prepare, and develop skills essential for their educational journey. This hands-on workshop was designed to equip students with the tools, knowledge, and confidence necessary to successfully navigate their path to college. The evening was a great success, with many students gaining valuable insights to apply after graduation!
On May 5th, our Jones Academy elementary students visited the Choctaw Cultural Center in Durant, Oklahoma. Students were able to explore and learn more about Choctaw heritage and history throughout the day. We wrapped up our trip by sharing pizza together before heading home, and it was such a fun day spent making memories together!
On Wednesday, May 6th, our UNITY Student Council took time out of their school day to visit the McAlester Choctaw Community Center and help serve lunch. It was such a great afternoon watching our students lead, serve, and give back to the community. So proud of them for representing Jones Academy so well!
