Jones Academy students competed in the 1st Campus Tournament in the Jones Academy esports lab. 16 students played Smash Brothers Ultimate for prizes and bragging rights. In the winners picture are Jordan with 2nd, Darion with 1st, Carter with 3rd and Esports Coach Barrett Fadler.
Congratulations to Autumn Johnston and Isabel Lujano, who were inducted into the 2023 Oklahoma Honor Society at the Hartshorne Public Schools Honors Banquet.
Autumn is from Wilburton, OK and in the 7th grade at Hartshorne Middle School. She is a member of the United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee Indians.
Isabel is an eleventh grader from Tulsa, OK. She is of Kiowa descent.
State testing has started at Jones Academy Elementary! Mrs. Holeman's 5th/6th grade students decorated the hallway with posters to help encourage students and each other during state testing time.
March Students of the Month. Autumn Johnston is a member of both the Cherokee and Pawnee tribes. In her spare time she enjoys hanging with her friends and playing stickball. After she graduates high school she plans on going to college to become a neurologist. Jordan Harper is a member of both the Kickapoo, Sac and Fox tribes. In his down time he enjoys playing football and working out with his friends. When he graduates he plans on going to college to become an engineer or a doctor. Michael Bloomer is a 5th grade student in Mrs. Holeman's class and is a Choctaw tribal member. Michael's favorite color is blue, and he enjoys playing basketball and stickball. When Michael grows up, he wants to play basketball in the NBA. Elie Acuna is a 5th grade student in Mrs. Holeman's class and is a member of the Creek tribe. Elie's favorite color is red, and she enjoys painting, hanging out with friends, and playing basketball. When she grows up, Elie wants to be a track star or play professional basketball.
PSA: Jones Academy will be performing testing on our new warning system each month. We will test the first Tuesday of each month at 12:00 noon. We wanted to inform local residents as we’ve been informed that it can be heard from a good distance away.

Yakoke to Cultural Educator Ross Green for spending Friday afternoon with us. The students enjoyed being educated about the traditional use of the bow and many of them had the opportunity to practice shooting. It was a great introduction to bow shooting and we look forward to more activities in the sport of archery.

Jones Academy is excited to be able to participate in the NASA In-Flight Downlink event. Jones Academy has implemented NASA curriculum and professional development and will be in attendance at the private event on February 1st.
